Iacovos is a Senior Manager in the Corporate and Digital Law team of EY LAW. Iacovos specialises in corporate and commercial law as well as intellectual property and Digital law matters. Iacovos heads the firm’s Corporate and Digital departments. He joined Ernst & Young in 2017 after seven years with the law firm of another Big4 firm. 

Iacovos has completed his studies at the London School of Economics and holds an LLB in Law and a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Corporate and Commercial Law. Iacovos is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association since 2011.

Iacovos has participated and advised on a number of transactions involving in particular corporate restructurings, M&A, both local and cross-border reorganisations, re-domiciliations, setting up IP structures, setting up internal corporate governance systems, corporate litigation disputes and providing advice regarding the regulatory framework for data protection as well as advice on and assistance with other aspects of the regulatory framework relevant to the corporate, commercial and industrial sectors both in Cyprus and the EU.

Iacovos has advised on the setup of numerous SPVs and joint-ventures including the incorporation of private limited liability companies by shares and by guarantee, public companies and partnerships, drafting of their constitutional documents and shareholders’ agreement and advising on regulating the shareholders’ relationship.

Iacovos has vast experience in company law matters and has experience in all form of Company and corporate applications and litigation at the District Courts. Examples of such engagements include court applications for reorganisations, cross-border mergers, inbound and outbound re-domiciliations, reductions of capital and late filings.

Iacovos has worked on numerous projects involving tax restructurings and the setting up of IP structures. These ranged from small private companies to large multinational corporations across many different industries and sectors of the economy. 

He has advised on international restructurings of major clients in the pharmaceutical, technology and energy and finance sector and corporate governance matters and the drafting of internal corporate governance regulations.
