Socrates is the founder and senior partner of Aliant’s member firm in Cyprus. He studied Law in the United Kingdom and has been a practicing lawyer since 2007. He is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association, the Nicosia Bar Association, and the TEP Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. His expertise is primarily in International, Commercial, Banking and Corporate Law. He is currently the legal advisor of a number of licensed financial institutions, payment institutions and Cyprus investment funds, regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission. He is also a licensed Nominated Advisor (NOMAD) of public companies listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange. He has considerable experience representing both private and government clients in both local and international cases. 

Socrates has worked with big local companies, such as local air carriers, logistic companies, media and promoting agencies as well as with an international corporation in the beverages market. He has assisted clients with detailed due diligence reports of Cyprus entities, lead his legal team in a number of mergers and acquisitions, worked with German banks, advising them on complex corporate structures involving Cyprus companies with multimillion transactions. In recent years, due to the changing times, he has had considerable exposure to local and international banks overseeing finance loans and pledge arrangements, and group restructurings.
