Trainers

Dr. Harris Papadopoulos

Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics of Frederick University where he is also heading the Computational Intelligence (COIN) Research Laboratory. He is also a Visiting Fellow of the Computer Learning Research Centre of Royal Holloway, University of London. His main research interests focus on the development of novel machine learning techniques that accompany their predictions with probabilistically valid measures of confidence and on the application of such techniques to a variety of problems and scientific fields. He has published more than 60 research papers in prestigious international refereed journals and conferences. He acted as co-editor of the book “Measures of Complexity: Festschrift in Honor of Alexey Chervonenkis” published by Springer in 2015, which was dedicated to one of the most influential figures in the area of Machine Learning. He has been involved in several national and EU funded research projects, in four (4) of which as coordinator, with a total budget of more than 4.5M euro. Direct funding to his lab in the last four (4) years exceeds 700,000 euro. He has also secured an industrial grant (of around 400,000 euro) for the application of Machine Learning techniques to large volumes of data, from one of the biggest international consulting companies for complicated assets. He served as an Associate Editor of the Evolving Systems Journal (Springer) from 2015 to 2018, as guest editor of seven (7) journal special issues and as one of the main organizers of several international conferences and workshops.

Lysimachos Maltoudoglou

A senior machine learning engineer at Proddis Ltd – an AI solutions company based in Limassol.

He has been working with Natural Language Models from the early 2019 in the industry and has 2 relevant academic publications.

He holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from University of Ioannina, a bachelor & masters of engineering in Production and Management from Democritus University of Thrace and a master's degree in Systems Engineering and Management from University of Macedonia & Democritus University of Thrace.
