Brief Description of the Agenda

Opening with remarks from CYS President Mr. Demetris Vaki and a welcome address by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Makis Keravnos, the conference sets the stage for a high-level discussion on the importance of sustainable finance. The event features a keynote on the strategy and work program of ISO TC 322 Sustainable Finance by its chairperson, Mr. Joseph Noss, highlighting international standards and approaches.

The "Financing Net Zero Transition" segment, moderated by Mr. Marios Tannousis of Invest Cyprus, includes a panel of distinguished experts such as Mr. Joseph Noss, Mr. Franz Knecht of Connexis - ESG & Sustainable Finance, and representatives from Oliver Wyman, Zielke Research Consult GmbH, Grant Thornton Cyprus Ltd, and the Bank of Cyprus. This session will explore strategies and innovations for financing projects and initiatives that contribute to a net-zero carbon economy.

Another significant part of the conference is dedicated to "Sustainable FinTech," moderated by Ms. Kalyani Inampudi, an independent ESG & carbon consultant. The panel, featuring experts from various organizations, will discuss the role of financial technology in enhancing sustainable investment and operational practices within the finance industry.
