MiFID framework reform has been continuously evolving since 2007, introducing a significant number of notable developments – starting from Market in Financial Instruments Directive in 2004, moving to the Directive 2014/65/EU of 2018 (MiFID II), ending in 2024 to MiFID III / MiFIR2, a revamped regulatory era.
Since the adoption of MiFID II/MiFIR framework in January 2018, numerous regulatory developments took place, including but not limited to Level 2 as well as Level III related measures (ESMA Guidelines, ESMA Q&As), providing guidance as well as clarifications in connection to the implementation of specific issues / aspects / grey areas.
Industry professionals, compliance and legal experts, advisors as well as regulators do apply all these regulatory requirements in their day-to-day business.
Six years down the road, in March 2024, the new MiFID III / MiFIR2 regulatory era was introduced. The aim of the new regulatory regime is to exert a higher degree of transparency and the availability of market data, achieve a more uniform level-playing field between execution venues, update the EU share and derivative trading obligations, prohibit payments in relation to clients’ order flow towards execution venues, ensuring in such a way that EU markets in financial instruments infrastructure remains internationally competitive.
The aim of this course is to provide a comprehensive overview and understanding of MIFID II/ MiFIR topics, up-to-date knowledge enabling the development of effective internal controls and alignment with regulatory standards. Also, this course delves into the new regulatory era of MiFID III / MiFIR2 and examines the key developments/updates introduced, aiming at providing a comprehensive understanding concerning their applicability.

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Refresh knowledge in relation to the steady state of MiFID II and MiFIR regime
- Gain a comprehensive understanding and insights around new regulatory changes introduced / will be introduced by MiFID III / MiFIR 2
- Analyse the practical implications of these requirements and provide guidance concerning compliance with the new requirements
- Upskill confidence and ability to recognise, develop and implement effective arrangements, demonstrating compliance against the today’s evolving regulatory era
- Solve questions in relation to the implementation of MiFID framework as well as be capable of anticipating questions / queries by local regulators
- Share experiences with industry peers and raise issues of most concern to their organisation

Training Style
The training style will include the presentation of all the material using slides and handouts. The trainer will use practical examples to elaborate various concepts and encourage class discussion.
Participants will engage in exchange of ideas and sharing of knowledge on the subject matter. Participants will also be able to ask questions and obtain clarifications from the trainer on the material covered.
Participants will have the opportunity to benchmark experiences with industry peers and raise issues of most concern to their organisation, either confidentially or in open session in a Q&A Session.

This programme may be approved for up to 6 CPD units in Financial Regulation. Eligibility criteria and CPD Units are verified directly by your association, regulator or other bodies which you hold membership.
