It all begun in 1992 from a pioneering seminar about  “Food Hygiene”. 

The inspirer, the organizer and the presenter of the seminar was Mr. Panayiotis Andreou, a young scientist with a wide enterprising spirit. The seminar had an extraordinary success and triggered the interest of the enterprising world. 

Mr. Andreou got the message and in 1993 founded h.s.i Foodtech Laboratories Ltd. The company was small and flexible and initially functioned as a microbiological and biochemical laboratory which specialized in food analysis. The laboratory today is a modern laboratory that embraces the latest technology equipment. 

In a short period of time h.s.i Foodtech Laboratories Ltd, due to its responsibility, validity, and the high standard of services that provides gained an excellent reputation in the market. This fact enabled the company to attract a large number of public and private companies. Most of these business partners are still working with us. 

Since then h.s.i Foodtech Laboratories Ltd has been offering quality solutions for Food Hygiene, Quality and Environment Management Systems, Analytical and Microbiological Laboratory Services, as well as Training Seminars (Open and In-company seminars).

THE COURSE

In a short period of time our company expanded in the health and environmental sector with the same success. 

Concurrently, the market matured creating suitable conditions for the next step. This was the study, application and the implementation of an advanced system in a circle of pioneering services which embraced the customer and product in a protective manner covering each and every need.

For the 19 years of h.s.i Foodtech Laboratories Ltd that has been operating, the company is in a position to demonstrate a long list of achievements in various sectors. 

The company with its pioneering studies and research managed to contribute to the significant sectors of “Hygiene of Quality” and “Safety” regarding not only food but also the working environment. The company through its projects, has developed a series of management systems that conform the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHS 18001, ISO 17025 and HACCP. 

h.s.i Foodtech Laboratories Ltd through its research, also contributed towards the creation of ISO 22000 and has formulated a new type methodology that was adopted by the market.

Our company, through its large enterprising activities, also ensured that there were constant collaborations with large business groups (inside and outside of Cyprus), restaurants and any kind of enterprises related to the food industry.

SERVICES PROVIDED BY FOODTECH

HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points): FOOD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

A well designed food safety system that concentrates on potentially hazardous foods and how these foods move through the operation. By focusing on the factors that are critical to food safety, the food outlet can better manage their food process.

Foodtech has been active since 1992 in the area of food safety management systems, which involved projects in the areas of food, hotel and catering business. Foodtech has been involved in consulting, training, and analytical projects within the industry. The consulting projects were managed using powerful methodologies and tools on subjects such as Food Safety, Food Analysis, Training and Auditing, Business Organizational and Process Analysis. Foodtech methodology and approach permitted the company to be established, in a very short period, in the Cyprus market and gain important projects Cyprus and Abroad.

ISO 9001: QUALITY MANAGEMENT:

Foodtech has worked since 1994 in the area of quality management systems, which involved projects in the areas of food and agribusiness, construction and civil engineering, information technology and information management, plastics manufacturing and pharmaceutical and medical equipment distribution. The company has developed a differentiation strategy based on our Business process audit and implementation methodology. This strategy was based on experience on the above subject but also on genuine and powerful methodologies and tools on subjects such as Quality Systems Planning and Implementation, Business Process Definition and Analysis.

Quality is a continuous process that can be improved to avoid issues in the system company from supply and customer service. Quality chain requires complete dedication and constant need to be upgraded to facilitate perceived quality improvement. Audits (Hygiene, Quality, Environmental): Certification, 2nd Party Audits

FOODTECH team carries out audits for Hygiene, Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental systems for any business with defined methods, procedures and instructions. Such an audit provides an independent and objective review of the effectiveness of the existing Hygiene, Quality or Environmental Management System.

Laboratory Services:

The FOODTECH LABORATORIES established Food Hygiene, Safety and Quality Assurance laboratory in

1993 with the objective of using it for the monitoring of the quality of the food and water (potable and swimming pool) and for the purpose of validating the efficiency of the HACCP systems developed. Since then the

laboratory has expanded and has been accredited with ISO 17025.

Labelling Services:

Since the implementation of EU regulation 1169/2011 FOODTECH LABORATORIES has established a service to reputable customers for food labelling.

Some of our customers and Brands that we assisted include but are not limited to Shark, Pepsi, Mc VIties, Sevegep, Argosy, Tryfon Tseriotis, Cosmos and many other Food Service Operators and Large Chains of Restaurants – KFC- Ocean Basket – Pizza Express- and many more.

Foodtech has supported the Hotel and Catering industry since 1993 with the development of Food Hygiene Quality & Standards for a major tour operator and several hotels in Cyprus, Greece and Spain. The company has detailed knowledge of the industry operations and has assisted many Cypriot and international organizations.
