ΠΕΡΙΓΡΑΦΗ
The programme aims at providing participants with a clear understanding of what crowdfunding is, as well as the types of actors involved in the provision of crowdfunding services. The programme shall focus on the provisions of the current regulation in place, and also examine how such providers are treated under CySEC.
Furthermore, the programme will cover the regulatory requirements as well as the specifics behind crowdfunding, the types and services covered under the current EU regulation as well as the specifics around the establishment of such providers covering areas around operation and authorisations.
ΣΚΟΠΟΣ ΣΕΜΙΝΑΡΙΟΥ
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
- Describe what crowdfunding is and what this activity entails.
- List the types of crowdfunding service providers and what these can do.
- Identify the current regulatory framework in place and understand how these are interconnected.
- Understand the approach of CySEC in relation to the established and operation of crowdfunding service providers.
- Describe the operational requirements and authorisation process.
- Explain the risks faced by crowdfunding service providers.
- Explain how investor protection rules apply and the distinction between the two types of investors.
- Explain how a Key Investment Information Sheet is drafted.
- Show how an application for authorisation of crowdfunding service provider is prepared and submitted with CySEC.
- Analyse the legal and regulatory background in EU and CY
- Analyse the prudential requirements crowdfunding service providers.
- Evaluate the requirements regarding marketing communications and cross boarder notifications.
- Justify how and when crowdfunding service providers must notify the regulator when they intend to provide services not covered by the regulation.

Training Style
The programme has a practical delivery style with presentations, case studies, practical exercises, and direct-action points that will help participants apply the knowledge learned to keep their organisation compliant and the employees and customers safe.
CPD Recognition
This programme may be approved for up to 10 CPD units in Financial Regulation. Eligibility criteria and CPD Units are verified directly by your association, regulator or other bodies which you hold membership.

Κωνσταντίνος Κανιουρας - Officer A’ at the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission
Konstantinos is an Officer A’ at the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, currently detached at the Ministry of Finance. He has a solid background of over 18 years of practical experience in the field of financial services, which has been acquired in Luxembourg, Cyprus and Germany and covers both the industry as well as the regulator’s perspective on legal and regulatory aspects of fund management and asset management in general, financial innovation and crowdfunding. Within the context of his financial innovation duties, Konstantinos had drafted the CySEC Crowdfunding Directive prior to the application of the ECSPR, was actively involved as a national expert in the MiCAR Working Party and was the Project Manager for the establishment of the recently launched CySEC Regulatory Sandbox. Konstantinos holds an LLB from the University of Athens, an LL.M. from the University of Heidelberg, an LL.M. from the University of Luxembourg and a Master in Business Law and Taxation (MBLT) from the University of Mannheim. During his studies in Luxembourg, Konstantinos had also effected an internship at the Court of Justice of the European Union and at the Embassy of Greece
